1. What We Collect

When you use Mimi, we process the following data to operate the service:

• IP address — hashed and stored for abuse prevention and ban enforcement. Your IP is also sent to a third-party geolocation service (ip-api.com) to determine your country of origin, which is displayed to your chat partner.
• Session metadata — a randomly generated user ID, username, selected gender, chat mode, and timestamps. These are not linked to any real-world identity.
• Chat messages — relayed in real time between participants and not persistently stored on our servers.
• Video/audio streams — transmitted peer-to-peer via WebRTC. Moderators may observe live streams for compliance; streams are not recorded.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Matching you with other users for chat sessions.
• Displaying your country and username to chat partners.
• Enforcing bans against users who violate our rules.
• Moderating sessions to ensure compliance with our Terms of Service.

3. Third-Party Services

We use ip-api.com to resolve your approximate country from your IP address. We use Google STUN servers for WebRTC connectivity. No other third-party analytics or tracking services are used.

4. Data Retention

Session data (hashed IPs, usernames, metadata) is retained for up to 90 days for abuse prevention purposes and then automatically deleted. Ban records are retained for the duration of the ban plus 30 days. Chat messages and video streams are not stored.

5. Moderation

Mimi moderators may observe any active session — including video, audio, and text — at any time without additional in-session notification. This is done solely for compliance and user safety. Observed sessions are not recorded.

6. Your Rights

Since Mimi is fully anonymous, we cannot identify you outside of your session. If you wish to have data associated with a specific session removed, contact us with your session ID. Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data.

7. Children

Mimi is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. By using the service, you confirm you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
